Medium - large tree, leathery maroon leaves tinged pink at tips produces copious purple berries loved by birds. A pioneer species, providing shade and protection for slower growing trees. Mulch thickly with good compost, water regularly and feed with high nitrogen organic or chemical fertilizer to boost growth.
