Afrikaans: Bruinsalie
Soft, grey foliage, contrasts well with attractive golden brown flowers, loved by sunbirds. An excellent coastal shrub, although it needs little maintenance, the beach salvia responds well to regular pruning, watering and feeding with slow release 3:1:5 chemical or organic fertiliser giving a stunning display in spring and summer. Cut back hard in winter if required.

Afrikaans: Bloublomsalie
Tall, striking shrub to 1,5m with bright sky blue plumes and crisp, light green leaves. Good coastal shrub for full sun, requires little attention but thrives on regular watering and feeding with slow release 3: 1:5 or organic fertilizer. Cut back after flowering (winter) or to shape as required.
Location: W. and S. Cape and Little Karoo.
